»Ars poetica
Photography for me is a game, but a very serious one. It means to have a possibility to get a wider knowledge of the
world, it means emotiona challenges and the freedom of expressing myself on my own visual language.
I gethered on an immense archive during 40 years, subjects from 44 countries, from the american space-center to Tadj Mahal in India, portraits of artists, politicans, celebrities. There are press photographs, book illustrations, dokumentation
and there are those pictures with special messages wich are difficult to fit in to any categories at all. They sometimes just
happaned accidentally, but mostly are the results of researches, of experimentation of challenging different ways. These ideas are all supported by the creative possibilities of digital technic. I’m trying to make the most out of it as well. (Janos Eifert)

»Biography
He was born on May 8, 1943 in Hódmezővásárhely, Hungary.
1960-1977: professional dancer of the Honvéd Dancegroup. Starts making photos in 1968 on tours abroad.
1977: Photographer of the publication „Lobogó”, 1978-88 of „Búvár”, 1991-92 of „Képes Extra”, 1991-93 picture
editor of „BOOM”, freelance photographer for „Új Tükör”, „Népművelés”, „Muzsika”, „Világ Ifjúsága” and other papers.
1984-: Artistic director of „Sebesvíz” International Photo Workshop; lecturer and workshop leader at the Erste Werkschule
für Fotografie in Soltau, Höhere Graphische Bundes- Lehr- und Versuchstanstalt Wien, BodyArt in Bayreuth;
head teacher of the professional college and master courses of the Hungarian Photographers’ Association.
1998: artistic director of the I. National Photo Week, 1999 chairman of the II. National Photo Week’s advisory
board, festival director of the Photo Month in 2000, 2002; founder, managing editor of the website of MFSZ, the
first Hungarian on-line photography magazine.
2000: co-founder, and first artistic director of the Documentation and Collection of Contemporary Photography
funded by the National Széchenyi Library and the Hungarian Photographers’ Association, vice president of HUNGART;
head teacher of the professional college and master courses of the Hungarian Photographers’ Association;
professional advisor, member of the Professional Advisor’s Board of Copyright.
2001: editorial associate of FotoVideo and Foto Mozaik; art director of the Artphoto Galéria on-line art gallery, art
director of the Revolving Gallery of the National Dance Theater.
2001-2006: Moves to the town of Győr, Hungary; teacher at the Hungarian Dance Academy, The School of Dance
and Fine Art of Győr, Socrates Bi-lingual Vocational School (2003). He teaches art photography, press photography
and newspaper editing.
2002-2004: Artistic director of MEDIAWAVE-Festival (Győr/H)
2004-: Artistic director of ZOOM Magazine
2005-: front page photographer of Győri Hét.
