Fluid Bodies
A photographic series born after years spent drawing and painting dancers in motion, an experience subsequently translated photographically with the long exposure technique, the images taken in a studio covered in black fabric and equipped with reduced lighting (low key) or vice versa with a strongly illuminated white background (high key), were obtained by following dancers in fluid and continuous action, without the aid of a tripod, in a dynamic situation conceived as a dance improvisation performed by the dancer and photographer in constant and intense interaction. The resulting images represent the visual traces of these actions, each movement of the bodies and of the camera have created images with a strongly pictorial and suggestive character.
